November 2021 |
I was raised by my dad and grew up around all men. I did not have a clue how to clean or cook but as I got older and in to my early 20s I quickly learned the basics and moved on to other things, all with the goal of living as simply and healthfully as possible. Though I've had formal training in food service, I believe hands-on experience is the best teacher.
This blog is a place where ...
- I can keep a little bit of a journal for personal reference
and
- I can share with others and hopefully get some feedback with good ideas and helps. I am always open for suggestions and tips!! Maybe I'll even be able to pass along what I've learned to others.
Please feel free to add you comments in the posts you read ... share what has worked for you on the subject at hand, ask questions, give additional tips, or whatever - we can all learn more!
UPDATE Jan 22: My children are now all married and I have 4 grandchildren and one on the way, Lord willing. :) :) :) God has been so good to me!! The photo above shows what we call "our family" ... I'm on the right in the dark blue skirt with the blue zipper sweater. My youngest is next to me, holding his first baby (his wife, Megan, is due in May with their 2nd, Lord willing). My daughter is on the left wearing the blue and white skirt - she's holding her newest [Steven] and her husband, Brian, is behind her and my oldest, Tylor. Tylor is holding Brianna's daughter, Elvia. Tylor and Molly were married last February :) "Big David" and "Little David" are in the middle of us all - Little David is my first grandchild. And then to round us all out, Cory is on the left and Olen & Areli are on the right.
We try to get together once a week for a family meal, and spend lots of time together throughout each week.
